Prof Peter Catcheside
BSc (Hons), PhD, CRFS
Professor Peter Catcheside is a sleep and respiratory physiologist at the Adelaide Institute for Sleep Health and College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University. His current work is predominantly focussed on improving treatments and diagnostic methods for sleep breathing disorders such as obstructive sleep apnoea, problem snoring and central sleep apnoea, and on understanding mechanisms and consequences of disturbed sleep through respiratory problems or environmental noise exposure. Related interests in respiratory physiology and mechanics also seek to improve the understanding and assessment of increased inspiratory effort in other settings such as in asthma, COPD and in patients requiring ventilation in intensive care.
