Prof Karen Reynolds

Karen is an AISH Management Committee Member and an Associate Investigator on our Centre of Research Excellence in Health Services Research Grant.
Professor Karen Reynolds is a highly awarded Australian Bio-medical Engineer. She is currently the Dean (Research) of Computer Science and Engineering at Flinders University and a Matthew Flinders Distinguished Professor. Along with teaching and research roles, Prof Reynolds is the Director of the Medical Device Research Institute and founding Director of the Medical Device Partnering Program S.A; an organisation that facilitates collaboration between researchers, end-users and industry to assist in the development of cutting-edge medical devices that solve real end-user problems. The Program has assisted more than 150 companies and inventors since inception, helping develop medical devices that improve diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients as well as providing greater independence for people with disability and older people. Prof Reynolds is a Theme Leader in the Alertness CRC and provides expertise in utilising CRC technologies and systems towards clinical validation and integration into primary care.
Matthew Flinders Distinguished Professor Karen Reynolds has become an Honorary Fellow of Engineers Australia, recognising her innovative work in biomedical engineering and especially her significant contributions to the Australian medical device industry.
